Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design and own end-to-end computer vision and machine learning pipeline architecture, including data collection, dataset curation, model training, event logic, performance evaluation, and edge deployment.
- Select and deploy classical computer vision, trained detectors, foundation models, and learned policies based on technical requirements.
- Develop and maintain data engines with auto-labeling, synthetic data generation, field observability, and continuous model improvement loops.
- Fuse RGB-D camera, LiDAR, and IMU data, including sensor calibration and multimodal perception approaches.
- Maintain IoT and fleet data pipelines for OTA model updates and telemetry across deployed robotic units.
- Define and review perception requirements and verify system performance through test automation and closed-loop evaluation.
- Evaluate methods against latency, determinism, cost, and safety-certification considerations.
- Mentor robotics engineers through design and code reviews, with emphasis on perception and machine learning.
- Collaborate with hardware, cloud, and software engineering teams on stack compatibility and technical risk management.
- Participate in client scoping calls and customer site visits as a technical advisor.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in robotics or computer vision/machine learning.
- Expert-level Python and C++ proficiency with a record of completing complex projects.
- Deep PyTorch experience across dataset development, training, and edge deployment.
- Hands-on OpenCV and classical computer vision experience.
- Deep sensor-fusion experience across cameras, LiDAR, and IMUs, including calibration and real-hardware debugging.
- Strong understanding of ROS 2 and perception integration with navigation and planning stacks.
- Proficiency with Docker, Linux command line, shell scripting, and Git workflows.
- Experience with vision foundation models, open-vocabulary segmentation and detection, learned policies, imitation learning, diffusion policies, or open VLA model fine-tuning is preferred.
- Experience optimizing DNNs for edge computing with quantization, distillation, TensorRT, ONNX, and CUDA is preferred.
- Experience with synthetic data and simulation tools such as Mujoco, Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, or Gazebo is preferred.
- Experience with data engines, auto-labeling, active learning, closed-loop evaluation, IoT data pipelines, MQTT, real-time or deterministic systems, autonomous path planning, and behavior verification is preferred.
- Familiarity with mmWave Radar, SLAM, 3D geometry, controls and dynamics, Kalman Filters, advanced state estimation, cloud platforms, and edge NPUs is preferred.
- Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams in a professional or consulting context is preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills for explaining technical tradeoffs to customer stakeholders.
Benefits
- Washington-State-based base salary hiring range is $125,000 to $150,000.
- The role involves work across multiple robot platforms and sensor stacks, real-world fleet deployments, occasional customer site visits, and client scoping calls.
