Responsibilities

  • Drive the transition from monolithic to distributed architecture and design an agentic-ready platform supporting AI products and MCP server integrations.
  • Write production-quality Python and build and optimize distributed compute services and workflow orchestration systems.
  • Own CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment strategy, observability, monitoring, alerting, incident response, performance, scaling, and reliability practices.
  • Make architectural and technical decisions balancing immediate business needs with long-term platform goals.
  • Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, establish engineering best practices, and guide prioritization across multiple teams.
  • Collaborate with product, business, and senior engineering stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Interview and onboard new engineers.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including experience in a staff-level engineering role.
  • Broad expertise across deployment, CI/CD, automated testing, SRE, observability, incident response, and production reliability.
  • Deep experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed backend systems end-to-end.
  • Strong API and service-interface design skills for distributed services.
  • Security-minded development experience, including authentication, authorization, OAuth, and secure-by-default practices.
  • Expert-level Python development experience in production at scale.
  • Strong Kubernetes experience with production workloads.
  • Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal, Airflow, Kubeflow, or similar.
  • Cloud platform expertise with AWS required; Azure and GCP experience beneficial.
  • Experience with data-processing frameworks such as Spark, Athena, Ray, or similar.
  • Track record of driving architectural transformations in growing companies.
  • Strong technical communication, stakeholder management, leadership, problem-solving, mentorship, ownership, and customer focus.
