Responsibilities
- Build AI-powered agents and tools end-to-end, from client problem discovery and prototyping through evaluation and production deployment.
- Design and implement LLM integrations using prompt engineering, function calling, structured outputs, and retrieval-augmented workflows.
- Define evaluation criteria and build test harnesses for ambiguous, domain-specific AI systems.
- Work directly with clients to understand workflows, validate AI behavior, and iterate toward production quality.
- Partner with core engineering teams to turn client-specific solutions into broadly applicable product features.
- Contribute to agent frameworks, tool integrations, deployment pipelines, and shared AI infrastructure.
- Monitor and maintain production AI systems with attention to reliability, cost, and performance.
Requirements
- Extensive professional software engineering experience.
- Professional experience with Python.
- Experience using LLM APIs such as Claude or GPT, including function calling and structured outputs.
- Comfort with SQL for data exploration and data-grounded AI workflows.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Codex.
- Experience taking a project from zero to one and owning it from prototype through production.
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience building agentic systems, including multi-step tool use, agent orchestration, or durable workflows, is preferred.
- Additional backend language experience, particularly Java, is preferred.
- Financial data familiarity, AWS and container deployment exposure, and experience with AI evaluation frameworks are preferred.
