Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain highly available Kubernetes and OpenShift clusters across environments.
- Monitor cluster health and workload performance, respond to incidents, and resolve complex networking, performance, and system-level issues.
- Automate container platform deployment, scaling, lifecycle management, and operational processes.
- Optimize Kubernetes compute, memory, storage, and workload utilization for performance and cost efficiency.
- Implement Kubernetes security, access controls, compliance requirements, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery operations.
- Design and manage persistent storage, CSI drivers, and stateful workload architectures.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.
- Administer container registries, including image lifecycle management, access control, vulnerability scanning, and secure artifact distribution.
- Evaluate emerging Kubernetes technologies and patterns to improve platform reliability and efficiency.
- Lead technical initiatives, communicate with cross-functional teams, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in Red Hat OpenShift is required.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with a focus on cloud computing and container technologies, is required.
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes architecture, APIs, control plane internals, Docker or Podman, and Kubernetes/OpenShift lifecycle management is required.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and infrastructure-as-code or automation practices is required.
- Knowledge of networking concepts including CNI plugins, service connectivity, ingress configurations, and protocols is required.
- Expertise in Kubernetes persistent storage, stateful workloads, and CSI-based storage is required.
- Proficiency with RBAC, policy engines, workload reliability, CI/CD pipelines, container registries, and infrastructure scripting is required.
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go is required.
- Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack is beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, communication, technical leadership, and mentoring skills are expected.
- Completion of 15 years of full-time education is required.
