Base Salary
$135k - $170k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement the core state estimation and prediction architecture for autonomous spacecraft operations.
- Research and implement estimation and prediction algorithms from literature review through training, tuning, optimization, and deployment.
- Develop classical and neural estimators to track multiple dynamic targets and their trajectories in real time.
- Create neural models to forecast target trajectories and behavioral patterns.
- Implement intent-inference models to identify actions and dynamically rank threat levels.
- Integrate estimation and prediction models into mission simulation environments and autonomy decision systems.
- Collaborate with perception and onboard autonomy teams to improve prediction fidelity, robustness, and scalability across missions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, aerospace, robotics, applied mathematics, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least two years of relevant industry experience in state estimation, aerospace, robotics, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python.
- Experience with probabilistic state estimation, including Kalman filters, particle filters, and Bayesian inference.
- Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow for sequence modeling using seq2seq, RNNs, LSTMs, or Transformers.
- Familiarity with trajectory modeling, multi-body dynamics, or orbital mechanics.
- Preferred experience implementing state estimation pipelines in real-time or safety-critical systems.
- Preferred experience deploying sequence-to-sequence forecasting models in dynamic environments.
- Familiarity with radar, optical, and inertial sensor fusion.
- Proficiency with CUDA and TensorRT for neural network training and inference.
- Experience with Linux, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Comfort with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with real-time systems, multithreading, performance optimization, and networking and communication protocols for distributed autonomy systems.
- Must satisfy applicable ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements.
