Base Salary
$192k - $272k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and harden Kubernetes infrastructure for scientific services, ML pipelines, and platform workloads, including RBAC, network policies, and Pod Security Standards.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines with build attestations, SBOM generation, dependency scanning, and container image hardening.
- Manage infrastructure-as-code and policy-as-code guardrails with drift detection using Terraform, Helm, OPA, Kyverno, and Checkov.
- Design and operate AWS infrastructure including EKS, IAM, VPC and PrivateLink networking, KMS, Secrets Manager, ECR, S3, and centralized logging and monitoring.
- Create platform tooling for deployment, observability, developer workflows, and secure self-service.
- Drive reliability engineering through SLOs, SLIs, incident response, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
- Implement software supply chain controls such as artifact signing, registry governance, and vulnerability management.
- Build QA and testing infrastructure including static analysis gates, automated end-to-end and browser regression suites, ephemeral test environments, and pre-merge quality checks.
- Develop Python or Go automation and integrate infrastructure telemetry with observability platforms.
- Collaborate with software engineers, lab scientists, and ML engineers to support automated scientific analysis and experiment orchestration.
Requirements
- Expertise in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering in large-scale cloud environments.
- Experience deploying cloud environments such as AWS or GCP with Terraform, Helm, and containerization.
- Deep experience with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins, along with GitOps practices.
- Strong proficiency in Python or scripting languages for automation and tooling.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes operations, including deployments, networking, storage, observability, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux is a bonus.
- Experience with observability platforms, chaos engineering, and incident management is a bonus.
- Experience securing ML/AI pipelines, including model registries, training clusters, or inference gateways, is a bonus.
- Experience in regulated or audit-heavy environments such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 is a bonus.
- Supply chain security experience involving SBOMs, image signing, or SLSA concepts is a bonus.
- Experience administering static analysis platforms and scaling browser-based test suites across parallel CI environments is a bonus.
- Prior startup or high-growth experience balancing velocity with reliability is a bonus.
