Base Salary

$139k - $198k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive long-term technical vision for one or more Hub Platform domains.
  • Own architecture and execution for large, complex, cross-functional initiatives supporting future hub platforms.
  • Guide reliable and secure designs for firmware updates, hub OS abstractions, partner integrations, and hub-to-cloud connectivity.
  • Evaluate and establish AI-assisted development and operational practices.
  • Partner with firmware, security, cloud infrastructure, product, and partner engineering teams on technical direction.
  • Mentor engineers at all levels, including senior engineers, and improve engineering practices across the organization.
  • Support observability, incident response, and on-call operations for firmware delivery, hub connectivity, and attestation services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of production software engineering experience with demonstrated Staff-level technical leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of embedded Linux, boot-chain validation, kernel and system security, secure boot, and firmware signing.
  • Strong knowledge of mTLS/PKI, attestation, secure provisioning, and trusted execution environments such as TrustZone and OP-TEE.
  • Strong experience designing and operating distributed AWS-based backend systems for firmware delivery, device connectivity, or IoT fleets at scale.
  • Strong knowledge of AI development tools and practices.
  • Experience with Docker or similar containerization tools for building, testing, and deploying services.
  • Proven ability to lead architecture and design reviews, set cross-team technical direction, and simplify complex problems.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with firmware, security, product, and partner engineering teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in Rust is desired.
  • Experience with IoT fleet management, including provisioning, monitoring, and lifecycle management, is desired.
  • Experience with Matter, Thread, and MQTT is desired.
  • Experience with embedded-firmware CI/build infrastructure, GitHub Actions runners, and reproducible build pipelines is desired.
  • Experience supporting OEM or partner integration models is desired.
