Base Salary
$58k - $105k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop microservices under the guidance of senior developers for the L-CAP platform.
- Write unit, integration, contract, and other automated tests for distributed service components.
- Participate in code reviews and Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and PI planning.
- Use CI/CD pipelines to build, test, and deploy software.
- Integrate services with RESTful APIs and event-driven messaging systems.
- Collaborate with testers, systems engineers, DevOps personnel, and other cross-functional team members.
- Navigate large codebases spanning multiple services and repositories.
- Document code, design decisions, and technical approaches.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues identified during integration and testing.
- Develop services within distributed microservice architectures using established patterns and interface contracts.
- Learn legacy air traffic control system functionality to support modernization into new service implementations.
- Use AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to improve productivity and code quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
- 0–2 years of software development experience.
- Proficiency in at least one of Java or C++.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
- Experience with Git and automated testing in continuous integration environments.
- Basic understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and microservice architecture patterns.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust investigation and successfully complete required government background investigations.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new technologies, frameworks, and domain-specific concepts.
- Preferred qualifications include exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Python, SQL, NoSQL databases, AI-assisted development tools, legacy modernization, or event-driven architectures.
