Responsibilities
- Build AI-powered agents and tools end-to-end from client problem discovery through prototyping, evaluation, and production deployment.
- Design LLM integrations using prompt engineering, function calling, structured outputs, and retrieval-augmented workflows.
- Define evaluation criteria and build test harnesses for domain-specific AI systems.
- Work directly with clients to understand workflows, validate AI behavior, and iterate toward production quality.
- Partner with core engineering teams to generalize client-specific solutions into product features.
- Contribute to shared AI infrastructure, agent frameworks, tool integrations, and deployment pipelines.
- Monitor and maintain production AI systems for reliability, cost, and performance.
Requirements
- Prior professional software engineering experience.
- Professional experience with Python.
- Experience with LLM APIs such as Claude or GPT, including function calling and structured outputs.
- Comfort using SQL for data exploration and data-grounded AI workflows.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Codex.
- Experience building a project from zero to one and taking it from prototype through production.
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred experience includes agentic systems, multi-step tool use, agent orchestration, durable workflows, additional backend languages such as Java, financial data, AWS, container-based deployments, and AI evaluation frameworks.
