Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain embedded-system firmware, low-level drivers, bootloaders, and OS-critical functions for system initialization and hardware interaction.
- Contribute to OS integration and kernel-level modules connecting hardware abstraction layers with higher-level system software.
- Design and implement application-layer features and system services that use firmware interfaces while optimizing performance, resource usage, and robustness.
- Debug complex issues spanning firmware, operating-system, and application boundaries with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Collaborate with deployment engineering to solve technical challenges for customer requirements.
Requirements
- Active Top Secret US clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent technical experience.
- At least 4 years of experience in operating-system or kernel development, RTOS, embedded systems or firmware design, microkernel development, or bare-metal development.
- Software development experience in C and Rust.
- Understanding of low-level hardware systems.
- Willingness to travel 5–20%.
- Preferred qualifications include knowledge of microcontrollers, SoC, device drivers, hardware bring-up, power management, ARM processors, performance optimization, file systems, bootloading, firmware, x86 assembly, system BIOS, FPGAs, hardware/software integration, processor clocks and timing, I2C, SPI, UART, USB, systems engineering, and distributed systems.
