Responsibilities
- Embed with business and platform stakeholders to scope and execute time-boxed forward-deployed engineering engagements.
- Translate opportunities into production-ready delivery plans and move solutions from prototype through secure, scalable deployment.
- Build backend services, APIs, AI-first solutions, workflow integrations, and reusable platform capabilities.
- Conduct discovery, validate feasibility, prototype where useful, and standardize patterns and learnings from engagements.
- Apply secure-by-default, privacy, observability, testability, evaluation, and operational-readiness practices throughout the software lifecycle.
- Prepare handoff packages and transition plans so owning teams can independently sustain delivered solutions.
- Coordinate with architecture, security, compliance, control, data, and platform stakeholders to ensure governance-compliant production delivery.
- Program efficient, testable code; participate in code reviews; maintain functionality; and manage technical debt.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute feedback to FDE standards, handoff criteria, working norms, delivery quality, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Hands-on software development experience delivering production systems; securities or financial-services experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of AI and agentic application patterns, including retrieval-augmented generation, semantic search, and agent-based system design.
- Hands-on experience building backend services, APIs, and production systems across architecture, data, and platform concerns.
- Experience delivering AI, data, or workflow-heavy solutions in regulated environments.
- Strong systems-thinking and architecture judgment across services, data, and infrastructure.
- Experience balancing delivery speed with governance, security, and operational rigor.
- Familiarity with reusable platform patterns, internal developer platforms, productized infrastructure, application frameworks, and containerization.
- Experience with observability, evaluation, and day-two production ownership practices.
- Strong software engineering skills in one or more of Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to coordinate across stakeholders without formal authority and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to operate in ambiguity, make practical tradeoffs, and exercise clear product and delivery judgment.
