Responsibilities
- Embed with business and platform stakeholders to scope and execute time-boxed forward-deployed engineering engagements.
- Translate opportunities into production-ready delivery plans and prototype, build, harden, and deploy AI-first solutions across data, APIs, services, and workflow integrations.
- Extend reusable platforms, templates, and modules while contributing code and patterns to shared repositories.
- Conduct discovery with operating teams and sponsors, validate feasibility, and standardize learnings into shared platform capabilities.
- Incorporate secure-by-default engineering, observability, testability, evaluation, and operational readiness into delivered solutions.
- Prepare handoff packages and transition plans so owning teams can independently sustain solutions after engagements end.
- Coordinate with control, architecture, security, and compliance stakeholders to maintain governance-compliant production solutions.
- Write well-designed, testable, efficient code; participate in code reviews; maintain functionality; and manage technical debt.
- Apply security and privacy principles throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute feedback to improve FDE standards, handoff criteria, and team delivery quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Hands-on software development experience with direct delivery of production systems; securities or financial-services experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of AI and agentic application patterns, including retrieval-augmented generation, semantic search, and agent-based system design.
- Hands-on experience building backend services, APIs, and production systems across architecture, data, and platform concerns.
- Experience delivering AI, data, or workflow-heavy solutions in regulated environments.
- Strong systems-thinking and architecture judgment across services, data, and infrastructure.
- Experience balancing delivery speed with governance, security, and operational rigor.
- Familiarity with reusable platform patterns, internal developer platforms, productized infrastructure, application frameworks, and containerization.
- Experience with observability, evaluation, and day-two production ownership practices.
- Strong software engineering skills in Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or one or more comparable languages.
- Ability to work across data, AI, workflow, and platform layers and use modern AI tooling pragmatically.
- Strong written and verbal communication, product and delivery judgment, stakeholder coordination, and practical tradeoff thinking.
