Base Salary
$150k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for business-critical systems and integrations.
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines, automation, and workflows to improve operational efficiency.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, Member Services, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Drive technical excellence through code reviews, best practices, and mentoring other engineers.
- Ensure reliability, performance, security, and scalability across backend systems.
- Contribute to long-term Business Systems technical strategy and identify automation and process-improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language such as Java, Python, or Go.
- Experience designing and maintaining APIs, integrations, and middleware.
- Understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and query optimization.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and with distributed systems.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and balance business and technical needs.
- Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to a learning-oriented culture.
- Commitment to using AI tools while maintaining the same quality standards as personally produced work.
