Responsibilities
- Build high-uptime platforms that serve 100TB–1PB of data quickly and reliably.
- Build tools and platforms that empower engineers, modellers, and analysts across Aurora.
- Found and shape the Data Platforms team’s culture, practices, and technical direction.
- Take large projects from conception to production in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience developing impactful, mission-critical backend systems.
- Excellence in one or more programming languages, with Python used most frequently.
- Strong discipline in testing and automation.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-ownership environments and take major projects through production.
- Experience using AI coding tools judiciously.
- Strong teamwork, low ego, and high initiative.
- Genuine interest in the transformation of energy markets and infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with large distributed systems is desirable.
- Previous data-platform experience, including scheduling, streaming, storage, and compute, is desirable.
- Experience with Python, Lakehouse architectures, Terraform, and AWS is desirable.
