Responsibilities
- Build high-uptime platforms that serve 100TB–1PB of data quickly and reliably.
- Build tools and platforms for engineers, modellers, and analysts across Aurora.
- Help establish the Data Platforms team’s culture, practices, and technical direction.
- Take large projects from conception through production in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience developing impactful, mission-critical backend systems.
- Strong proficiency in at least one programming language, especially Python.
- Strong discipline in testing and automation.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-ownership environments.
- Experience using AI coding tools judiciously.
- Excellent teamwork, low ego, and high initiative.
- Genuine interest in the transformation of energy markets and infrastructure.
- Desirable: hands-on experience with large distributed systems and data platforms involving scheduling, streaming, storage, and compute.
- Desirable: experience with Python, Lakehouse architectures, Terraform, and AWS.
