Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and monitor moderately complex production data pipelines and data models independently.
  • Translate finance business requirements into technical designs and build unified data products from disparate operational datasets.
  • Model finance data using Data Vault and Kimball dimensional modeling techniques.
  • Write data transformations in SQL and Python and orchestrate workflows using Airflow or Dagster.
  • Manage infrastructure as code through Git and automated CI/CD pipelines, and contribute to platform migration, semantic layers, and automation.
  • Own data quality, validation, reconciliation, automated failure detection, and schema validation.
  • Deliver changes to SOx-relevant data assets in accordance with change management and access control requirements.
  • Support month-end close, statutory and external reporting, forecasting, and self-service analytics within required timelines.
  • Participate in operational support rotations, monitor SLIs and SLOs, investigate incidents, and lead postmortems.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Accounting, Tax, Audit, Financial Systems, Group Reporting, central technology, and product teams.
  • Support and mentor less experienced team members.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of relevant professional experience as a Data Engineer or similar data-focused engineering professional.
  • BSc or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven working knowledge of Python and strong SQL, including query performance tuning on large datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake, AWS, S3, and workflow orchestration using Dagster or Airflow.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, Kimball dimensional modeling, Git, GitHub or GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong data quality skills including testing, validation, and reconciliation, plus the ability to work independently in Scrum or Kanban environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Preferred experience with dbt, Data Vault modeling, Terraform, SOx-compliant or regulated reporting environments, Spark or PySpark, Kafka or Flink, Collibra, Immuta, and AI-assisted engineering tools.
