Responsibilities
- Collaborate with peers to develop, troubleshoot, enhance, and document software components.
- Translate requirements into functional specifications and coordinate design phases.
- Create and review technical design documents and participate in technical design and troubleshooting meetings.
- Participate in walkthrough reviews of technical specifications, programs, code, and unit test plans.
- Conduct unit testing, use automated testing frameworks, and perform performance tuning.
- Plan implementation activities, ensure solution quality, provide third-level technology support, and contribute to platform evolution.
- Present technical topics, manage low-level work-package planning, and estimate design, coding, and testing activities.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on computer science, engineering, or technology.
- Demonstrated leadership acumen, interpersonal and communication skills, creativity, analytical thinking, self-direction, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience or understanding of programming languages, databases, platforms, frameworks, design techniques and tools, code management tooling, or web technologies.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle methods, including Agile, Waterfall, and Iterative methods.
- Knowledge of UML and cross-browser development experience are nice to have.
- Machine learning lifecycle exposure and experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and LLM training or fine-tuning methods are nice to have.
- Must be eligible to complete a full 12-month co-op term with the school and submit a resume and academic transcripts in one PDF document.
