Responsibilities
- Develop device drivers and embedded applications in RTOS and bare-metal environments.
- Create requirements specifications for device drivers, bootloaders, and embedded applications based on system specifications.
- Derive requirements from schematics and technical specifications and create detailed design and test specifications.
- Implement features, follow coding standards, and perform unit testing.
- Support hardware engineers with test code for board-level and regulatory testing.
- Oversee, supervise, and review team members’ work and provide task direction.
- Manage end-to-end processes and projects for internal and external clients with timely and accurate delivery.
- Mentor and guide junior colleagues in their skill development and professional growth.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software technical problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in embedded systems design and development.
- Strong C and C++ programming skills.
- Experience with RTOS concepts and an RTOS such as FreeRTOS or MicroC OS.
- At least 2 years of experience with BSPs, device drivers, or bootloaders.
- At least 2 years of experience with ARM-based processors, including TI, NXP, or ST platforms.
- Experience reading schematics and understanding hardware for developing device drivers and display drivers.
- Experience with SPI, I2C, I2S, timers, ADC, TCP/IP, RS485, RS232, and UART.
- Required experience programming bare-metal devices.
- Understanding of microcontroller concepts, ARM technology, and serial communication.
- Familiarity with MODBUS and CAN.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts.
- MATLAB, Octave, or other signal-processing tools experience is desirable.
- Working knowledge of Jira or other project-management tools and code-management tools such as Bitbucket or SVN.
- Knowledge of agentic AI tools and techniques for programming and debugging.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, teamwork, and adaptability skills.
