Base Salary
$137k - $252k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, scale, and optimize content discovery and search features in partnership with application teams.
- Build and manage high-performance, low-latency search systems supporting large and diverse content catalogs.
- Improve content processing, personalization, indexing, query performance, ranking, relevance tuning, and search quality.
- Develop or support distributed data processing, ML inference, retraining, recommendation, and personalization pipelines.
- Own significant end-to-end technical contributions and provide leadership in architecture, trade-off evaluation, and execution.
Requirements
- Sustained track record of significant, self-directed, end-to-end contributions to large and impactful software projects.
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and ability to evaluate and adapt technologies from first principles.
- Hands-on experience with distributed data processing, data indexing, ML inference and retraining frameworks, and data-intensive systems.
- Experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch, including indexing, query performance, ranking, relevance tuning, and search quality evaluation, is desirable.
- Experience building recommendation and personalization systems, including candidate retrieval, ranking, and production integration of model outputs, is desirable.
- Experience with Apache Spark and Databricks for content ingestion, transformation, feature generation, and search or recommendation pipelines is desirable.
- Ability to provide technical leadership, advocate for defensible solutions, evaluate trade-offs, and collaborate constructively.
