Base Salary

$150k - $210k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain production-quality numerical software in Python.
  • Integrate third-party software and hardware into the platform through APIs and maintain abstraction layers.
  • Profile and accelerate signal-processing implementations using vectorization, array-programming frameworks, JIT compilation, GPU offload, or compiled-code bindings.
  • Define testing and CI practices for numerical code, including regression, tolerance, reproducibility, property-based, and reference-implementation testing.
  • Collaborate with signal-processing engineers to productionize algorithms from papers, prototypes, and MATLAB.
  • Contribute to software architecture decisions for the sensing product line.
  • Travel periodically, up to 30%.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency building, maintaining, testing, and debugging production-quality Python numerical-computing codebases.
  • Strong command of array-based numerical computing, including NumPy, SciPy, or equivalent, and understanding of Python performance limitations.
  • Experience accelerating numerical code through JIT compilation, array or tensor DSLs, GPU computing, or Python bindings to compiled languages.
  • Experience contributing to a large, multi-team codebase and shipping changes used by other teams.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including version control, code review, automated testing, and CI.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
  • Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, open-source numerical or scientific-computing contributions, digital signal-processing experience, software-defined-radio experience, real-time or streaming data-processing experience, API or library design experience, MATLAB familiarity, current security clearance, JIRA and Confluence familiarity, and DoD, military, or government experience.
