Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services using Python, FastAPI, and Postgres.
- Build applied AI workflows using OpenAI API, LangGraph, vector databases, and search systems.
- Develop data collection, indexing, and search pipelines for scientific, clinical, regulatory, safety, and patent information.
- Implement customer-facing features end to end across data models, APIs, and React/TypeScript frontends.
- Build reliable systems that connect AI-generated results to source evidence and support traceability and verification.
- Collaborate directly with founders, domain experts, and early customers with outcome-level ownership.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience shipping production software through to release.
- Strong backend engineering fundamentals and experience designing APIs, databases, and services.
- Production experience with LLMs, agents, RAG, vector databases, or other AI-based systems.
- Ability to work comfortably across the frontend with React and TypeScript.
- Ability to prioritize independently and drive ambiguous projects through rapid delivery.
- Active use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Cursor.
- Preferred: production experience designing and operating LangGraph, agent frameworks, or RAG systems.
- Preferred: experience with vector databases, semantic search, or knowledge graphs.
- Preferred: enterprise SaaS or pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or life-science product development experience.
- Preferred: understanding of scientific literature, clinical trials, regulatory documents, or patent data.
- Preferred: experience at a seed-stage or early-stage startup.
