Responsibilities
- Shape enterprise- and system-level solution architectures for the Land CEMA portfolio.
- Architect and deliver CEMA capabilities with emphasis on interoperability, resilience, scalability, and customer value.
- Evaluate technical and commercial options, including bespoke development and Commercial Off the Shelf integration.
- Lead technical input to bids and campaigns, producing architectures, requirements, cost estimates, and technical risk assessments.
- Engage with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders to translate operational needs into technical solutions.
- Produce white papers and studies, provide thought leadership, and influence future defence programmes.
- Support capability management, product portfolio activities, recruitment, mentoring, and engineering talent development.
- Represent the organisation internationally through B2B collaboration and strategic partnerships.
Requirements
- A degree or equivalent experience in a STEM subject.
- Significant experience developing communications, EW/CEMA, and/or vehicle mission systems architectures, products, and systems across the full lifecycle.
- Experience working with customers at senior commercial and technical levels.
- Experience estimating costs and technical risk for alternative solution approaches.
- Experience with full product and system development lifecycles from concept through disposal.
- Familiarity with SOSA, LCA, GVA, OpenVPX, MORA, OpenCPI, and VITA open systems architectures.
- Experience with formal user requirements capture, traceability, and compliance management methods and tools.
- Experience with military electronic systems, interoperability, operational use cases, and customer needs.
- Knowledge of military communications architectures and principles and experience with Land and Maritime command and control networks.
- Experience producing engineering documentation for competitive tenders and working in a consultancy-type role.
- Experience using Cameo, Rhapsody, System Architect, and The MathWorks tools.
- Strong numerical, analytical, design, problem-solving, innovation, communication, presentation, and strategic skills.
- Ability to understand customer business and technical needs and translate them into clear technical solutions.
- Ability to work in multi-organisational teams and operate proactively with ambiguous or ill-defined requirements.
- A proven background as a Solutions Architect or in a role with similar responsibilities; willingness to learn is valued.
