Secure Configuration Systems Engineer

Responsibilities
- Ensure security configuration best practices are implemented and followed.
- Establish documented secure baseline configurations for State Street ITAM assets.
- Develop custom configuration-control solutions using Ansible, Chef InSpec, shell scripting, and related automation tools.
- Conduct NIST Framework risk assessments for critical assets.
- Develop security guidelines, policies, and procedures for the Secure Configuration framework.
- Design solutions with monitoring, auditing, reliability, and security built into system and platform configurations.
- Collaborate with engineers, stakeholders, and teaming partners to define enterprise requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Support projects through completion and ensure deliverables meet target timeframes and quality standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant industry, government, or consulting experience.
- Technical solutioning experience with cybersecurity, system hardening, DevOps, and DevSecOps.
- Experience with cloud DevOps tooling, container-native systems, and multi- or hybrid-cloud environments preferred.
- Experience developing or working with Kubernetes autoscaling tools and container and cloud security principles preferred.
- Experience applying STIGs, IAVAs, CIS hardening guidelines, security documentation, and systems security plans preferred.
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Terraform preferred.
- Experience with a programming or scripting language such as Python or Perl preferred.
- Security+ or another cybersecurity or network security certification preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication, prioritization, project management, and interpersonal skills.
