Base Salary
$85k - $105k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and operate secure, scalable AI APIs, services, pipelines, agents, containers, and serverless functions.
- Develop LLM-powered products including copilots, knowledge assistants, summarization engines, policy Q&A tools, and agentic workflows.
- Implement RAG, knowledge base, document intelligence, embeddings, vector and hybrid search, retrieval evaluation, and telemetry pipelines.
- Build reusable agent skills, tool definitions, prompts, guardrails, orchestration patterns, and enterprise AI integrations.
- Deliver curated datasets, feature pipelines, feature serving, model-serving patterns, and real-time inference capabilities.
- Implement PII handling, prompt-injection defenses, content filtering, policy-based access controls, auditability, explainability, and regulatory compliance.
- Establish model versioning, data lineage, evaluation, red teaming, CI/CD, testing, reproducibility, deployment, monitoring, and observability standards.
- Own incident response for AI platform issues and optimize system cost, performance, latency, caching, compute, queries, and token usage.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, data science, compliance, and business operations, while mentoring engineers and contributing to architecture standards.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 1 year building and operating AI/ML systems in production.
- Hands-on experience with LLM prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning or adapting open-source models, function and tool calling, agent orchestration, and production agentic systems.
- Strong Python engineering skills and experience building production-grade APIs, services, workers, or containerized applications with FastAPI or similar frameworks.
- Experience with Databricks AI/ML workflows, knowledge bases, vector or hybrid search, feature pipelines, model serving, Docker, container orchestration, and cloud-native deployment.
- Experience with AWS cloud-native AI workloads, cost governance, performance tuning, AWS ECS, serverless applications, AWS SAM, and Terraform.
- Experience implementing AI trust, safety, governance, PII handling, content filtering, access controls, auditability, and compliance controls.
- Experience creating reusable agent artifacts such as skills, tool definitions, prompt templates, system instructions, evaluation datasets, and guardrails.
- Experience with GitHub Workflows and incorporating AI solutions into CI/CD, as well as traditional and low-code/no-code application development using Java and Python.
- Preferred experience in insurance, fintech, or other regulated industries and familiarity with SOC 2, NAIC model laws, or GDPR.
- Preferred experience with LangSmith, Weights & Biases, Dynatrace LLM monitoring, OpenTelemetry, PyTorch, scikit-learn, fraud detection, document intelligence, risk scoring, actuarial data systems, or open-source AI/ML work.

- The base salary range is $85,000 to $105,000 for a full-time schedule.
