Responsibilities
- Architect and operate secure multi-environment infrastructure across AWS, AWS Gov, Azure, and Azure Gov.
- Build GitOps pipelines and reusable OpenTofu or Terraform-compatible infrastructure-as-code modules with CI validation.
- Operate Kubernetes platforms, including Helm, and improve reliability through SLOs, postmortems, and automation.
- Build observability with Grafana and metrics, logs, traces, and alerting.
- Operate edge networking and IoT and streaming pipelines for remote sensor data, including AWS IoT and Kinesis.
- Support secure ML workloads and strengthen platform security across identity, secrets, policy, hardening, and compliance controls.
- Build self-service platform capabilities, paved roads, guardrails, and documentation for engineering users.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or SRE roles with direct ownership of production systems.
- Deep Azure experience, preferably including Azure Government and high-security or regulated environments.
- Practical AWS experience, especially with IoT services, Kinesis, and event or stream-processing architectures.
- Expert Kubernetes operations experience and strong Helm experience.
- Strong GitOps experience and a track record of improving delivery safety and speed.
- Strong infrastructure-as-code expertise with OpenTofu or Terraform and policy-oriented workflows.
- Strong observability experience with Grafana and modern telemetry practices.
- Experience with edge networking, distributed edge deployments, and remote sensor telemetry pipelines.
- Experience supporting ML or AI workloads and secure data processing at cloud and edge.
- Demonstrated security expertise in IAM, network segmentation, zero trust, secrets management, encryption, and policy as code.
- Experience with FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, CMMC, IL4/IL5, service meshes, policy engines such as OPA/Gatekeeper, workload identity, software supply chain controls, or multi-cluster and hybrid cloud or edge Kubernetes is preferred.
- Comfort with functionality-first thinking and AI-augmented engineering workflows.
