Base Salary

$165k - $231k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain automated analysis software tools and methods, including modernization of existing tools.
  • Use AWS HPC infrastructure and workflows, including EC2 and S3, to automate engineering analysis.
  • Integrate third-party analysis tools such as Ansys and Altair and automate their input and output formats.
  • Build and maintain containerized development and execution environments for Linux and macOS.
  • Develop APIs, services, and job orchestration layers using technologies such as Slurm and OpenMPI.
  • Maintain Blue Analysis Templates and supporting toolchains.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for analysis software delivery.
  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines to identify automation opportunities and reduce manual effort.
  • Mentor structural and mechanical engineers on software development and deployment best practices.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in computer science, information science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 7 years of hands-on software development experience with production systems.
  • Strong experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, particularly EC2, Image Builder, and ParallelCluster or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in at least one of Java, Python, or C#.
  • Experience with Linux system administration, Docker containerization, and build pipelines.
  • Familiarity with HPC concepts, job schedulers such as Slurm, MPI, and cluster management.
  • Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
  • Understanding of Git and DevOps practices.
  • Strong code review experience, including modernization of legacy tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
  • Preferred: degree or educational certificate in mechanical, aerospace, or electrical engineering, or physics.
  • Preferred: experience with HPC-as-a-service platforms, engineering analysis workflows, CAE tools, and parallel macOS/Linux development environments.
  • Preferred: interest in applying AI/ML to analysis automation and efficiency.
