Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and operate scalable backend services and libraries for AI- and LLM-driven features.
- Integrate and harden model providers, tools, and agent capabilities behind versioned interfaces with reliable failure handling, observability, and cost and latency awareness.
- Build agent execution loops, evaluation tooling, and regression pipelines that measure and gate AI behavior.
- Develop proactive, context-aware, multimodal customer experiences across Alexa, Fire TV, mobile, wearable devices, and Alexa.com.
- Apply secure, fail-closed design to credentials, user data, tool execution, and autonomous actions.
- Work with AI coding assistants and agentic workflows while maintaining strong code review, testing, and engineering quality.
- Collaborate with internal teams and product organizations to define and deliver new products and features.
- Write production code, make architecture and design decisions, and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- At least one software programming language.
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of experience contributing to new and existing systems architecture and design, including architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices across the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, software architecture, code reviews, source control, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence.
- Familiarity with agentic software development using tools such as Kiro, Claude, or Cursor.
