Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain BSPs for NVIDIA Jetson Thor modules and custom carrier boards, including board bring-up, device trees, pinmux, and peripheral enablement.
- Customize and maintain boot chains, firmware, UEFI, OS loaders, kernel or QNX microkernel configurations, kernel modules, resource managers, and drivers.
- Build reproducible, CI-driven Linux and QNX OS images and tune them for real-time and low-latency performance.
- Own OS lifecycle tooling, including JetPack and NVIDIA BSP upgrades, A/B OTA updates, secure boot, disk encryption, fleet flashing, and provisioning.
- Triage and document lab and field issues such as boot failures, kernel panics, driver regressions, and thermal throttling.
- Define hardware requirements, review schematics and layouts, and support compute hardware bring-up from prototype through production.
- Collaborate with hardware, robot software, QA, validation, and manufacturing teams on platform quality, testing, code reviews, and design reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience building, debugging, and shipping embedded systems using Linux and/or QNX.
- Hands-on experience with NVIDIA Jetson, including Thor or Orin, JetPack, flashing, and carrier-board customization.
- Strong Linux kernel configuration, device-tree, driver-development, debugging, upgrade, and backporting skills.
- Experience with Yocto, Buildroot, or a comparable image-build system.
- Proficiency in C and C++, plus working knowledge of Python or Bash for tooling and Git.
- Strong hardware-debugging skills using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG, and serial debugging.
- Ability to interpret system schematics and hardware datasheets, with knowledge of CAN, EtherCAT, and Ethernet.
- Familiarity with embedded Linux security fundamentals such as secure boot, PKI, and hardware key storage.
- Experience with technical specifications and strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Preferred experience with QNX Neutrino, SDP, BSP development, resource managers, PREEMPT_RT, robotics or other high-performance real-time systems.
- Preferred experience with CUDA, TensorRT, containers on Jetson, OTA frameworks such as RAUC, SWUpdate, or Mender, fleet provisioning, ROS 2, DDS, ISO 26262, and upstream kernel or open-source BSP contributions.
