Responsibilities
- Develop cloud-native platform services spanning all three major cloud environments.
- Develop and promote best practices for cloud-native application development.
- Administer NASA cloud networks and manage deployment requests for commercial and cloud-native applications.
- Write quality code and conduct engaged code reviews for peers.
- Manage Kubernetes offerings across all three major cloud providers.
- Integrate managed AI and data services with bespoke and open-source Kubernetes applications.
- Identify abstraction opportunities and develop enterprise-grade, multi-tenant platform services.
- Collaborate with NASA security and compliance teams on industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Support NASA human spaceflight missions including Orion, Lunar Gateway, and Artemis.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related area.
- Normally 10 years of experience in the field or a related area.
- Strong production experience with Kubernetes.
- Proficiency managing and using GitLab.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline tools.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana and Superset.
- Proficiency with infrastructure as code using Terraform or OpenTofu.
- Extensive Linux experience; Windows familiarity is preferred.
- Expertise in at least one programming language, with Go and Python preferred.
- Experience with Python and SQL; R is preferred.
- Working understanding of machine learning model lifecycle management is preferred.
- Experience architecting and building cloud-native applications.
- Demonstrated success owning the full project lifecycle and identifying opportunities for abstraction.
- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
- Proof of U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency may be required.
