Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain software integration layers for diverse robot platforms.
- Build hardware abstractions and APIs that support rapid deployment across new robot form factors.
- Integrate safety systems with motion planning, learning, perception, controls, and autonomy stacks through real-time interfaces.
- Run and maintain robotics hardware, debug hardware-testing issues, and evaluate control policies on physical robots.
- Develop high-quality, tested, and maintainable C++ and/or Python software for real-time robotics applications.
- Define integration-testing strategies and build simulation and hardware-validation pipelines.
- Contribute to system design reviews, technical documentation, and interface-contract alignment.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in real-time safety-critical software paths.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of robotics software development experience, including work with real robot systems.
- Proficiency in C++ and/or Python and experience writing production-quality code for real-time systems.
- Experience developing software for robotic systems, embedded platforms, or safety-critical applications.
- Familiarity with robotics middleware such as ROS or ROS2 and real-time communication frameworks.
- Experience designing software abstractions, APIs, or hardware-abstraction layers for multi-platform deployment.
- Understanding of software engineering practices including version control, CI/CD, code review, and testing.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s or PhD, control-barrier-function or safety-verification experience, full-autonomy-stack integration, RTOS or safety-rated firmware-interface experience, multiple robot morphologies, reinforcement learning or foundation-model deployment, robotics simulation, and cross-functional research experience.
