Base Salary

$82k - $220k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate requirements, propose solutions, and explore design trades to support system designs.
  • Design navigation, GN&C, control, and trajectory optimization algorithms.
  • Develop embedded software based on prototype algorithms.
  • Analyze designs using navigation accuracy analysis, linear covariance analysis, and Monte Carlo simulations.
  • Develop and execute software tests to verify compliance with requirements.
  • Evaluate results, identify causes of problems or inefficiencies, and develop solutions.
  • Prepare technical data, procedures, reports, drawings, manuals, and other documentation.
  • Communicate with customers and stakeholders about requirements, designs, and deliverables.
  • Track project priorities, scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Provide technical leadership and guide development direction for small to medium-sized teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field is required.
  • 5–10 years of software engineering or related experience is required.
  • Strong programming skills in MATLAB, Simulink, Python, C, and C++.
  • Experience with inertial sensors, navigation, estimation, system accuracy analysis, and navigation software or algorithms.
  • Knowledge of autonomy and GN&C algorithms, real-time software development, and validation of real-time algorithms and software.
  • Familiarity with trajectory optimization, optimal control, and related techniques.
  • Significant knowledge of control-system design and analysis and trajectory design or optimization algorithms.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership as a primary contributor guiding technical development direction.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, project execution, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to communicate work assignments clearly to team members.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance; Secret clearance is desired.
  • Master’s or PhD in a related field is preferred.
