Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
- Support internal developers in transitioning legacy software to modern platforms.
- Provide on-call support to NCBI's internal developers and staff.
- Collaborate with the Systems & DevOps team to ensure efficient infrastructure operation.
- Assist in the development and deployment of applications across various environments.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge and experience with building and maintaining Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
- Experience with Kubernetes and GCP cloud services, including GKE and Anthos.
- Familiarity with GitLab and GitLab CI/CD.
- Experience with ArgoCD and service-mesh technologies like Istio or Linkerd.
- BS degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience.
- Good systems debugging skills and comfortable with Linux or UNIX CLI.
- Experience in creating processes, procedures, and SOP documentation.
- Strong communication and soft skills to interface with customers and peers.
