Responsibilities
- Design and deliver portfolio software applications and high-quality application solutions.
- Develop and enhance scalable web applications, APIs, integrations, and backend services.
- Provide production support, maintenance, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, application debugging, and memory-leak analysis.
- Apply secure coding practices, including authentication, authorization, vulnerability remediation, and sensitive-data protection.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application and user-interface defects.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, solution design, knowledge sharing, and collaborative problem solving.
- Build relationships with scrum teams, management, technology and business groups, and vendors.
- Maintain technical expertise and share development techniques and best practices with teammates.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
- Advanced knowledge of C# and the .NET framework, including .NET Core, Entity Framework, and MVC.
- Deep experience with Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle and relational database development.
- Understanding of service-oriented architecture, web-service security, and data-integration provisioning.
- Experience with web-based user-interface design processes and responsive web products.
- Extensive experience with software-development technologies, methodologies, tools, and application architecture.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, and Azure DevOps is preferred.
- Experience migrating applications from the .NET Framework to .NET Core is a plus.
- Strong full-life-cycle development, web-application coding, analysis, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience using or interest in learning GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted software-development techniques.
- Additional certifications in software development, development tools, or user-interface development are a plus.
- Experience with Python, Angular, Jira, GitHub, and GitHub Copilot is valuable.
Benefits
- Work location is Birmingham, Alabama, or Atlanta, Georgia, with 4 days in the office and 1 day remote.
- The role includes approximately 70% development and enhancement work and 30% production support and operational responsibilities, depending on business needs.
