Responsibilities
- Build and support backend services for Monzo’s banking products.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary squad members to solve customer and business problems.
- Design and develop resilient software for distributed systems.
- Make product and engineering decisions informed by customer outcomes and data.
- Work within one of Monzo’s collectives, including Core Banking, Business Banking, Wealth, Borrowing, Growth, Payments, Platform, Fincrime, Security, or Expansion.
- Participate in the interview process, including a take-home task or pair-coding exercise, system design, and behavioral interview.
Requirements
- Strong experience working on the backend of a technology product.
- Interest in building products used by customers every day.
- A product mindset focused on customer outcomes and data-informed decisions.
- Comfort working in a team dealing with ambiguity.
- Interest in distributed systems and resilient software.
- Some experience with strongly typed languages such as Go, Java, C, or Scala.
- Formal qualifications or a degree are not required.
