Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end projects improving Retool’s core Apps product.
- Build and improve the architectural foundations for how applications are built, loaded, and persisted.
- Improve platform scalability and performance.
- Collaborate with product, design, internal counterparts, customers, and the AI engineering team.
- Debug and resolve customer problems.
- Help assess and recruit future engineers.
- Make technical decisions and contribute to technically challenging cross-functional projects.
Requirements
- 5+ years of full-stack web development experience.
- Strong JavaScript or TypeScript proficiency and comfort navigating the full stack.
- Experience owning technically challenging and demanding cross-functional projects.
- Experience working with product managers and/or designers.
- Strong product judgment and attention to how features work and feel.
- Ability to make technical decisions quickly while involving key stakeholders.
- Customer-focused approach and interest in speaking with customers.
- Preferred: PostgreSQL experience.
- Preferred: experience mentoring other team members.
