Responsibilities
- Administer and engineer the global Rubrik backup and data protection platform.
- Design and maintain Python automation, reusable libraries, self-service workflows, and automated remediation solutions.
- Create and manage GitLab repositories, branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and automated deployments.
- Develop API integrations between Rubrik, ServiceNow, monitoring tools, CMDB, and enterprise management platforms.
- Drive SRE practices including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, observability, incident response, and reliability engineering.
- Build automated onboarding, policy assignment, SLA management, compliance reporting, health-check, and recovery-validation workflows.
- Use AI-assisted tools and AIOps platforms to improve operational productivity and incident response.
- Develop monitoring dashboards, predictive capacity reporting, proactive alerting, and automated backup assurance reporting.
- Lead root-cause analysis and permanent engineering fixes for major incidents and recurring backup failures.
- Establish automation, coding, operational, and governance standards for the backup team.
- Mentor team members in scripting, automation, GitLab practices, DevOps methodologies, and SRE concepts.
- Support architecture reviews, strategic roadmap development, capacity management, documentation, and a 24x5 operational environment.
Requirements
- In-depth hands-on experience with Rubrik Enterprise Data Protection.
- 5–7 years of operational and engineering experience in enterprise backup environments.
- Experience developing automation solutions with Python and PowerShell or other scripting tools.
- Experience with GitLab, repository management, branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and automated deployment processes.
- Experience with REST API integrations and Linux administration.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools and SRE reliability practices.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow API integration, infrastructure as code, cloud backup technologies, and operational analytics is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Azure OpenAI, AIOps, and generative AI tools is preferred.
- Ability to work independently, lead continuous improvement, mentor colleagues, and collaborate across infrastructure and application teams.
