Base Salary
$113k - $238k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design distributed software architectures spanning x86, ARM, and FPGA processing domains for real-time RF signal-processing systems.
- Develop high-performance C++ frameworks for inter-processor communication under stringent latency and throughput constraints.
- Design microservice architectures for x86 and ARM platforms.
- Create architecture specifications, message sequence charts, UML class diagrams, and other technical documentation.
- Profile and optimize memory-bound and compute-bound workloads using performance-analysis tools.
- Design RF data pipelines from ADC collection through filtering, demodulation, and decoding.
- Develop debugging approaches for resource-constrained embedded systems.
- Build C++ and Python test harnesses and unit tests for representative workloads and edge cases.
- Integrate build automation, containerization, and CI/CD practices.
- Define hardware/software interfaces with FPGA engineers.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in embedded systems and/or high-performance computing in Linux-based environments.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong C++ proficiency for embedded real-time systems, including concurrency, memory management, and optimization.
- Experience designing and implementing software architectures and documenting technical concepts with diagrams.
- Experience developing multithreaded applications and debugging concurrency issues such as race conditions.
- Working knowledge of software design patterns and development methodologies for complex systems.
- Experience with modern build systems and DevOps tools such as Conan, Docker, and GitLab or similar tools.
- Experience with performance-analysis and debugging tools such as vTune, perf, gdb, and valgrind or similar tools.
- Ability to balance portability, performance, and architecture-specific optimization.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Preferred experience with communications systems, digital signal processing, wireless communications protocols, and RF-to-digital signal-processing pipelines.
