- Translate regulatory obligations and business goals into durable engineering primitives and sequenced technical roadmaps.
- Anticipate scaling constraints and platform risks and lead initiatives to address them before they become incidents.
- Partner with Engineering, Compliance, Legal, and Product leadership and represent the platform to auditors, regulators, and external partners.
- Set standards for observability, alerting, incident response, production ownership, and reliability.
- Mentor senior and staff engineers and improve design quality through architecture reviews.

- Strong API design judgment and experience with REST or gRPC.
- Experience translating regulatory findings, audit obligations, and partner requirements into durable engineering plans and defending those decisions to auditors and examiners.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes, observability tooling such as Grafana or OpenTelemetry, and cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
- Experience developing senior and staff engineers and raising an organization’s technical bar.
- Experience in fintech, payments, identity, or compliance technology is preferred; adjacent high-stakes systems experience is also welcomed.
