Responsibilities
- Write, review, and develop Java code and enterprise applications across the software development lifecycle.
- Design and engineer event-driven, horizontally scalable, highly available, resilient, and low-latency applications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and Agile team members to deliver sprint goals and decompose backlog deliverables.
- Contribute to technical design, documentation, engineering standards, and the broader technical community.
- Apply modern engineering practices including BDD, functional TDD, trunk-based development, feature toggles, SOLID, and Clean Code principles.
- Investigate infrastructure issues involving Kafka and Elasticsearch and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert and advisor to senior stakeholders and team members.
- Coach and advise new or lower-level analysts.
- Assess and manage risk while following applicable policies, laws, regulations, and control requirements.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience as a Java Developer or engineer.
- Strong hands-on experience with event-driven architecture, Kafka, Spring Boot microservices, SQL, Gradle, OpenShift/Kubernetes, and Elasticsearch.
- Practical experience with BDD, functional TDD, Cucumber, Spock, trunk-based development, and feature toggles.
- Strong understanding of Agile development and disciplined software engineering practices, including SOLID and Clean Code principles.
- Clear understanding of data structures and object-oriented principles using Java.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Tekton, Harness, or Jenkins.
- Strong experience with cloud-native development and container orchestration tools, including Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- B.Tech. or B.Engg. degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Exposure to architecture for horizontally scalable, highly available, highly resilient, and low-latency event-driven applications.
- Exposure to security, observability, and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, ELK, or CloudWatch.
- Exposure to data engineering concepts including data storage, quality, governance, modeling, and management.
