- Analyze, refactor, and modernize complex SQL Server stored procedures while preserving business logic and data integrity.
- Write migration scripts, optimize queries and indexes, analyze execution plans, and improve database performance.
- Implement change data capture, outbox tables, event publishing, and other event-driven database patterns.
- Build embedding pipelines, vector database implementations, synchronization processes, semantic search features, and retrieval APIs.
- Develop evaluation and monitoring for RAG components, including retrieval accuracy, latency, and freshness metrics.
- Design and maintain ETL/ELT, API-based ingestion, batch-processing, streaming, data-quality, and observability workflows.
- Provision and configure databases using infrastructure-as-code and support MongoDB and Cosmos DB data models and queries.
- Use AI coding assistants and build AI-powered tooling for stored procedure analysis, schema documentation, and migration support.
- Collaborate with application and AI/ML engineers, participate in code reviews, document solutions, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to on-call support when applicable.

- 5–8 years of experience in database engineering or data platform roles, including strong SQL Server experience.
- Deep T-SQL proficiency covering complex queries, stored procedures, functions, performance tuning, and execution-plan analysis.
- Hands-on experience modernizing legacy database code through refactoring and migration.
- Experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines, data integrations, batch workflows, and streaming workflows.
- Programming proficiency in Python or C# for tooling, automation, and data processing.
- Experience with Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Snowflake, or AWS data services.
