Threat Detection & Response Engineer, AI-Era Detection & Response
Trend MicroResponsibilities
- Investigate emerging AI-era threats, including AI-enabled attacks and threats to AI systems, and summarize findings.
- Build, test, and refine detection-and-response capabilities integrated with security tooling and analyst workflows.
- Develop and evaluate defensive prototypes and document promising approaches in clear specifications.
- Collaborate with threat intelligence, detection engineering, data science, AI/ML, and platform teams to move prototypes toward production.
- Communicate research findings and technical work clearly to teammates and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, software engineering, or a related technical field, with exposure to threat detection and response.
- Experience contributing to technical systems that reached production.
- Familiarity with security tooling and operational workflows, plus basic AI/ML knowledge and awareness of MITRE ATT&CK.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree or equivalent experience, AI/ML security exposure, hands-on EDR/XDR, SIEM, or SOAR experience, cloud or data-processing experience, relevant security certification, and research or R&D collaboration experience.
