Responsibilities
- Design and build AI agents that orchestrate SAP S/4HANA business processes using multi-step reasoning, tool use, MCP, and A2A protocols.
- Develop SAP Joule extensions, custom skills, domain-specific agents, and conversational interfaces with Joule Studio.
- Integrate Claude, GPT, and Gemini through SAP Generative AI Hub, including prompt engineering, model routing, guardrails, and agentic orchestration.
- Wrap released SAP APIs and OData services as MCP tools through the Integration Suite MCP Gateway.
- Build A2A-compliant multi-agent architectures connecting Joule, custom SAP BTP agents, and external platforms.
- Establish prompt engineering standards, evaluation frameworks, Responsible AI guardrails, hallucination mitigation, grounding validation, PII handling, and audit trails.
- Pilot emerging SAP AI capabilities and provide adoption recommendations.
- Collaborate with SAP developers and solution architects on Clean Core architecture and the S/4HANA landscape.
- Mentor development teams on generative AI, prompt engineering, agentic design patterns, and AI-augmented workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years focused on generative AI application development and/or agentic AI architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Claude, GPT, and Gemini, including prompt engineering, function and tool calling, structured outputs, and multi-turn reasoning.
- Experience building agentic AI systems with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, or SAP-native orchestration.
- Strong understanding of MCP and A2A protocols.
- Working knowledge of SAP BTP AI services, including Generative AI Hub, AI Core, Joule Studio, SAP Build, and Integration Suite.
- Understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture, data models, released APIs, and business processes in Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, or Order-to-Cash.
- Knowledge of AI safety and governance, including hallucination mitigation, content moderation, agent access control, and observability.
- Strong communication skills for translating business processes into agentic workflows and demonstrating AI value to non-technical stakeholders.
- Passion for rapid prototyping and staying current with AI advancements and the SAP AI roadmap.
