Base Salary
$174k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop operational tools and infrastructure that reduce operational load and improve operational excellence.
- Improve test infrastructure and make CI/CD systems more robust and flexible.
- Investigate and recommend practices for code quality, fleet health, security, reliability, and service availability.
- Design, build, deploy, and operate complex, reliable, and scalable software solutions in production.
- Maintain build and release systems and support the operational health of globally distributed services.
- Mentor junior engineers, share knowledge across teams, and write clear documentation.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of programming experience with a modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
- At least 4 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- At least 4 years of systems development experience in an IT or data center environment.
- At least 4 years of experience deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment.
- At least 2 years of experience in systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement.
- Experience leading the design, build, and deployment of complex, performant, reliable, and scalable production software solutions.
- Preferred: at least 1 year of development, programming, or scripting experience with Python, Java, Bash, or Perl.
- Preferred: knowledge of engineering practices across the software, hardware, and network development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations.
- Preferred: experience leading the delivery of complex software or computing infrastructure to customers.
