Responsibilities
- Develop, debug, test, and optimize embedded firmware for Renesas MCUs in C/C++ using bare-metal or RTOS environments.
- Provide technical support and articulate MCU solutions that meet customer application requirements.
- Determine customer needs and recommend products and solutions for end-user applications.
- Develop proof-of-concept solutions showcasing Renesas MCU capabilities.
- Collaborate with FAEs, marketing, and business-unit engineering teams on design-ins and customer escalations.
- Provide technical guidance and training to internal teams and customers.
- Manage customer escalations and coordinate internal technical issue resolution.
- Track industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive products to inform MCU product-roadmap recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering; a master's degree is preferred.
- 8+ years of professional industry experience in embedded systems and digital power applications.
- Hands-on experience with digital power or power management systems.
- Strong understanding of digital control theory for power electronics.
- Familiarity with control-loop compensation, PID or digital compensators, ADCs, PWMs, comparators, and timers.
- Experience developing embedded MCU firmware in C.
- Working proficiency in English and Chinese.
- Preferred experience with MCU peripherals and UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, and Ethernet communication protocols.
- Preferred experience debugging power systems, including efficiency, transient response, thermal behavior, and EMI/EMC.
- Preferred familiarity with industrial applications such as factory automation, energy, and power infrastructure.
- Preferred experience developing reference boards, evaluation kits, or demonstration systems.
- Prior application engineering, field application engineering, or customer-facing engineering experience is preferred.
