Base Salary
$75k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive OS and firmware update strategies emphasizing testing, stability, performance, security, and remote management.
- Develop tools and processes for automated testing of servers and operating-system images.
- Build monitoring tools for server-fleet health and performance, including proactive maintenance and anomaly detection.
- Create automation scripts and tools for fleet-management tasks using Ansible, Terraform, Python, Go, and Rust.
- Collaborate with OpenStack, storage, and hybrid-cloud teams on private-cloud automation and update impacts.
- Develop hardware lifecycle strategies from procurement through decommissioning.
- Evaluate and lead adoption of industry developments in CPUs, chipsets, storage, GPUs, firmware, and BMCs.
Requirements
- Professional development experience in one or more of Python, Go, Rust, or C.
- Familiarity with Ansible and Terraform in an enterprise private-cloud environment.
- Hands-on experience with operating-system and firmware management strategies in a private-cloud environment.
- Hands-on server-management experience with Redfish, BMC, and IPMI standards.
- Familiarity with server hardware architecture and management, including CPU, chipset, storage, GPU integration, and interoperability standards.
- Understanding of OpenStack and success improving server-fleet management and automation.
- Experience implementing logging and dashboards with Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki.
- Understanding of Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, and OAuth.
- Industry certifications in hardware engineering, firmware management, or data-center operations are beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience.
