Responsibilities
- Lead SAP IS-U Billing and Invoicing solution design, configuration, enhancements, testing, deployment, and support.
- Gather, analyze, and document requirements for billing, invoicing, rate design, tariffs, pricing, customer billing, and exception handling.
- Configure billing master data, rate categories, billing schemas, rate determination, operands, facts, rate steps, variants, tariffs, billing cycles, and invoice processing.
- Design and implement mass billing, billing simulations, reversals, adjustments, rebilling, budget billing, time-of-use billing, and exception-handling scenarios.
- Ensure integration with Meter Reading, Device Management, FI-CA, Customer Service, CRM, SD, and technical interfaces supporting meter-to-cash processes.
- Prepare functional specifications for WRICEF objects, including forms, print layouts, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and reports.
- Support SIT, UAT, regression testing, test data preparation, defect resolution, business sign-off, post-go-live stabilization, data migration, and cutover.
- Collaborate with ABAP, integration, data migration, testing, and change management teams.
- Mentor junior consultants, coordinate across teams, and provide senior-level functional guidance to stakeholders and project leadership.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience.
- 15 years of full-time education.
- Strong hands-on expertise in SAP IS-U Billing and Invoicing configuration.
- Deep knowledge of billing schemas, rate configuration, rate categories, operands, facts, variants, pricing, tariffs, billing cycles, and invoice processing.
- Knowledge of the meter-to-cash lifecycle and integrations with Meter Reading, Device Management, FI-CA, Customer Service, CRM, and SD.
- Experience with complex billing scenarios, mass billing, billing simulations, bill corrections, reversals, rebilling, invoice printing, and exception handling.
- Ability to prepare functional specifications and collaborate with ABAP and integration teams.
- Experience with testing lifecycles, defect resolution, cutover activities, and post-go-live support.
- Understanding of utility industry processes and regulatory or market-specific billing requirements.
- Strong communication, consulting, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Preferred experience in US utilities, water, electricity, or gas domains.
- Preferred exposure to SAP EDM, AMI or smart metering, RTP, TOU billing, integration platforms, or SAP S/4HANA Utilities.
- SAP IS-U Billing, Utilities, or equivalent SAP certification is preferred.
- Experience with Agile delivery and SAP Activate methodology is preferred.
