Responsibilities
- Design user-friendly, responsive interfaces for SWPC web applications and product delivery systems.
- Develop wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and data-rich user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Modernize backend systems, develop RESTful APIs, maintain ETL pipelines, and improve software architecture.
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases and deploy applications to dedicated servers using Docker.
- Organize and manage projects across scope, budget, deadlines, and lifecycle milestones.
- Lead and mentor developers and provide technical direction, code review, and QA review.
- Meet with clients and stakeholders to translate needs into actionable requirements.
- Test applications and write automated test scripts using Selenium and Playwright.
- Build demo applications and performance-based campaigns to showcase product capabilities.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in atmospheric science, space physics, geophysics, engineering, computer science, graphic design, human-computer interaction, or mathematics from an accredited institution.
- At least 8 years of experience in related areas.
- Proven full-stack development experience in a senior or lead capacity.
- Strong proficiency with Vue, React, and Svelte, plus backend development experience with Java, Python, and Node.js.
- Experience with Django, SQL and NoSQL databases, Docker, automated testing tools, ETL processes, and Prefect.
- Experience integrating AI and machine-learning features into production applications.
- Strong project management skills and Agile/Scrum experience.
- Excellent client-facing communication skills and the ability to lead and mentor a development team.
- Exposure to Drupal or similar CMS platforms, user research methods, scientific visualization, web API integration, and Git is desired.
