Responsibilities
- Develop, test, debug, and maintain production-quality software, primarily in Java with some Python or other language work.
- Design, query, and optimize database schemas and solutions for scalability and performance.
- Automate development workflows using Ant, Gradle, Jenkins, JUnit, Cucumber, Ansible, and Terraform.
- Debug and resolve coding, design, and database issues.
- Monitor and improve the performance and health of services and databases.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, database administrators, product teams, and other stakeholders to deliver quality solutions and efficient data access patterns.
- Contribute to shared infrastructure and improve existing systems within an Agile team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 3 years of experience developing enterprise software and services.
- At least 1 year of experience with Unix/Linux systems.
- At least 2 years of experience with relational or NoSQL databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
- Experience working on scalable systems or developing RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency in Java or a similar programming language; Python experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and cloud environments.
- Basic understanding of database optimization, indexing, and query tuning.
- Basic knowledge of performance monitoring and scalability principles.
