Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery from problem framing and technical scoping through architecture, implementation, and production rollout in customer environments.
- Build and ship net-new features, standalone applications, integrations, scenario tooling, data pipeline applications, evaluation frameworks, and custom simulation workflows.
- Work side-by-side with customer engineering and domain teams at their sites to understand constraints, debug complex issues, and deliver successful outcomes.
- Identify gaps in Applied Intuition’s platform, build custom solutions, and provide concrete requirements to product and engineering teams.
- Establish deployment patterns, create internal playbooks, and help shape the Forward Deployed Engineering function across EMEA.
- Travel approximately 25–40% to customer locations across Germany and EMEA.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience with a strong record of shipping production code.
- Full-stack development skills across backend, API-layer, and frontend work as needed.
- Direct experience working with customers in high-stakes technical environments, such as forward-deployed engineering, embedded engineering, deep technical consulting, or customer-facing software engineering.
- Ability to operate autonomously and define solutions in ambiguous situations.
- Strong English communication skills and confidence engaging with engineers and senior stakeholders.
- Preferred experience in autonomy, robotics, simulation, or automotive software, including ROS, C++, Python, or sensor pipelines.
- Preferred experience at a company using forward-deployed or embedded engineering models.
- Preferred experience building internal tools or custom applications within customer infrastructure.
- Nice-to-have experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Nice-to-have exposure to automotive certification or homologation processes.
- Nice-to-have experience helping define processes on an early-stage team.
