Responsibilities
- Own delivery from problem framing and technical scoping through architecture, implementation, and production rollout in customer environments.
- Build and ship production-quality net-new features, standalone applications, integrations, scenario tooling, data pipeline applications, evaluation frameworks, and custom simulation workflows.
- Work directly at customer sites with engineering and domain teams to understand constraints, debug complex issues, and deliver successful outcomes.
- Identify gaps in Applied Intuition’s platform, develop custom solutions, and communicate concrete requirements to product and engineering teams.
- Create deployment patterns, internal playbooks, and operating processes for the EMEA Forward Deployed Engineering function.
- Travel 25–40% to customer locations across Germany and EMEA.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience with a strong record of shipping production code.
- Full-stack development skills across backend, API, and frontend development as needed.
- Direct customer experience in high-stakes technical environments, such as forward-deployed engineering, embedded engineering, deep technical consulting, or customer-facing software engineering.
- Ability to work autonomously and define solutions in ambiguous situations.
- Strong English communication skills with the ability to engage engineers and senior stakeholders.
- Preferred experience in autonomy, robotics, simulation, or automotive software, including ROS, C++, Python, sensor pipelines, or related technologies.
- Preferred experience at a company using forward-deployed or embedded engineering models.
- Preferred experience building internal tools or custom applications within customer infrastructure.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
- Exposure to automotive certification or homologation processes is a plus.
- Prior experience at an early-stage team defining processes from scratch is a plus.
