Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML-powered solutions tailored to customer needs.
- Architect and implement enterprise application integrations using Python, JavaScript, APIs, and microservices.
- Build with customers to influence product direction and address last-mile workflow problems.
- Champion AI-augmented workflow automation in customer environments.
- Oversee production deployment, continuous evaluation, monitoring, and improvement of AI solutions.
- Navigate AI risk assessment, data privacy, GDPR, and related regulatory requirements.
- Mentor Senior FDEs and engineers and communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Align technical solutions with business objectives and measurable outcomes.
Requirements
- 15+ years of backend software development experience, including at least 5 years in a principal or staff-level role.
- 5+ years delivering impactful AI/ML solutions in production, including founding or Forward Deployed Engineer experience in 0-to-1 product development.
- Deep expertise in applied AI/ML, generative AI, LLMs, and agent-based frameworks.
- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages and experience with APIs, microservices, and enterprise integration.
- Experience solving complex, ambiguous problems and influencing cross-functional teams without formal authority.
- Experience with AI risk assessment, data privacy, and compliance such as GDPR.
- Strategic thinking and a track record of aligning technical solutions with business goals.
- Preferred: experience with Atlassian Intelligence, Rovo AI, or AI-powered Atlassian features; regulated industries; complex AI production systems at scale; or mentoring and leading engineering teams.
